Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By downloading, accessing, or using the SmartDocket mobile application and related services ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

SmartDocket is a grocery price comparison tool that helps Irish consumers:

• Scan receipts and track grocery spending
• Compare prices across Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, SuperValu, and Dunnes
• Find better deals and save money
• Get personalised price drop alerts
• Access AI-powered spending insights

3. Accounts

You must create an account to use SmartDocket. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under it. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

4. Free and Pro plans

Free plan

• Up to 10 receipt scans per month
• Receipts up to 2 days old
• Basic price comparisons
• 8 trending deals per week
• 10 reward points per scan

Pro plan (€4.99/month)

• Unlimited receipt scans
• Receipts up to 5 days old
• AI chat assistant
• Golden deals + personal deals + seasonal deals
• Price drop alerts
• Monthly savings report email
• 25 reward points per scan

5. Payments and subscriptions

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly at €4.99. On iOS, payment is processed through Apple In-App Purchase and charged to your Apple ID. On the web, payment is processed through Stripe. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can cancel at any time. When you cancel, you retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's subscription settings.

Refunds may be issued at our discretion for billing errors or technical issues that prevented use of the Service. For iOS purchases, refunds are handled by Apple.

6. Price accuracy

We update prices regularly: every 2 days for Tesco and SuperValu, weekly for Lidl and Aldi. Prices may be outdated between updates.

7. User contributions

When you scan a receipt, the product prices contribute to our collective database. By using the Service, you agree to this anonymous price contribution. You must not:

• Submit fraudulent or intentionally inaccurate receipt data
• Attempt to manipulate prices in the database
• Upload content that is not a genuine grocery receipt
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

8. Intellectual property

The SmartDocket name, logo, app design, and related materials are our property. Store names and logos (Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, SuperValu, Dunnes) belong to their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only.

You retain ownership of your receipt images and personal data.

9. Limitation of liability

SmartDocket is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:

• Inaccurate price information leading to purchasing decisions
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Loss of data (though we take reasonable precautions to prevent this)
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

10. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, submit fraudulent data, or abuse the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
